Steve Williamson is an Australian professional guitarist known primarily for his exquisite acoustic finger-style playing. Since 2008, Steve has performed a staggering 2600+ gigs in South East Queensland and boasts a huge catalogue of originals and pop cover songs all arranged for solo guitar.
After moving to Brisbane in 2005 Steve attended the Queensland Conservatorium and studied under Australian renowned guitarists' Jamie Clarke and James Sherlock and completed a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Guitar) in 2009. Since graduating Steve has worked as a professional guitarist, songwriter, producer, mix engineer and educator. As a session guitarist he has played on countless albums locally and internationally across styles from Heavy Metal, Country, Pop and EDM. Touring and recording for artists such as Australian Idol Contestants Hayley Warner, Dan England, Ricki Lee and country award wining artists Chelsea Basham (Golden Guitar) and Kimberley Bowden (The Voice).
As an educator Steve has over 17 years of experience and has taught at 12 Catholic Schools in Brisbane including Brisbane Boys’ College where he was Coordinator and Director of Guitar, Songwriting and Audio Production; and Marist Boys’ College as the Guitar Orchestras conductor and classical tutor.

Guitar Beginner Classes
Our beginner class is suited for players of all ages; we will be hosting an under 18 as separate class. This class will cover the fundamental techniques to get you on your way to playing a variety of beginner pieces that include picking, strumming and basic finger picking.
Guitar Intermediate/Advanced Class
This masterclass is suited for players who can play intermediate to advanced pieces for example Back in Black, Master of Puppets, Sweet Child of Mine, Mombassa. It is not imperative that you can play at this level but is recommended that you have either learnt or know the basics as this class will covering topics such as improvisation, modes and melody writing. If you are unsure whether this class is right for you, please email Guy or Steve for more clarification.

Do you supply guitars?
We recommend you bring your guitar though we have some available to use for the workshop.
Is this for acoustic or electric guitar?
Both, you can play acoustic or electric in the workshop and Steve will be using both.
Is it available for all ages?
All masterclass facilitators hold blue cards and under age students are welcome. We recommend the beginner workshop for younger attendees. We will be holding children specific workshops soon, please let us know if you are interested.
